Batman's much maligned, often forgotten nemesis of yore...The Killer Moth. Costume by The Black Knight (thanks, Jason!)...Helmet,Wings, Box by yours truly. Originally, Killer Moth started out as a criminal who adopted the identity of millionaire Cameron Van Cleer and became an "anti-Batman" for the criminal underworld...complete with Moth Signal, Mothmobile, etc. I wanted to do a removable helmet and decided a Bruce Wayne head would be fitting and ironic for the character. After being ridiculed for years (the costume doesn't help! ), Killer Moth sold his soul to the devil (Neron) and was turned into a human moth-like creature named Charaxes (sp?). I think he's lamer now than he was in the Silver Age! Oh yeah, Killer Moth holds the distinction of being the 1st foe to face Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) and be defeated! That couldn't have helped his self-esteem either!

That's some beautiful work guys. The costume and figure are top notch as always, with some amazing colors and incredible sewing by Jason. The matching box by you Anthony is dead-on and totally compliments the figure in color, tone and style. Plus, this ongoing Killer Moth dialogue is really showing some cool results in the way of figure work! A truly super set to me fellas! Five flyers to you both!

Wow! That's gorgeous! I mean artistry-wise. The costume is still wacky!
So what's the story on the helmet? How did you make that?
Oh, and everybody stand out of Scott Rogers way. He may fall over when he sees this.

Thanks!
The helmet is my 1st (successful) attempt at sculpting something.
Jason...I'll do up a helmet for ya if you want when I come back from vay-kay.

The helmet is my 1st (successful) attempt at sculpting something. Not unlike Tiger Woods first swing at a golf ball. "Oh, you mean it normally takes more than one swing to hit the ball in that little hole?" Nice work, man. C.

Wow! With a removable helmet no less....holy cow!! You totally nailed that head Anthony! What a great realization of Killer Moth in all his technicolor wonder! Great job on the outfit to Jason and the finishes on it to you - beautiful, clean, graphic work. Also another great box by Anthony... oh wait you ARE Anthony! ;D

Fantastic work Ant,one of the greatest challenges facing anyone is a removable Helmet and you make it look easy.Wings fit in beautifully and the Bruce Head works really well.Jason's work is of course excellent and the Box is a winner.Great job!

Whoa...I could have sworn I commented on this before.
Anyway, its an awesome piece. The collaboration between you and Jason has really produced a cohesive and brilliant custom. I really am astonished at how awesome that removable helemt is...very neat feature, and it looks terrific.
I swear, the customizing community is doing its best to make Killer Moth a mainstream, respected rogue in the Batman mythos.

The sculpt of the helmet alone is most immpressive & having it removeable is just off da hook! Excellent job Antony, it's a great surprise to see that you harbour such great sculpting skills. The box design is wicked!, how can ya go wrong with Purple & green? Jason! you took a whacky looking costume which looks likes its been colored by a grade 1 kid and executed it perfectly making it look clean & streamlined. As odd as the color scheme is, you made it flow nicely and look as proper as it possibly could. Kudos guys!, Awesome job! Will

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!! Phenomenal work!! As the world's greatest Killer Moth fan (I challenge anyone to disprove this) I think this is awesome!!! I love the removeable helmet! How did you make it? And did you know that Killer Moth actually had plastic surgery (in Detective Comics #173) to resemble Bruce Wayne when he took over his Batman identity? Now where can I get a Killer Moth box of my own? (I love all the classic villains on the panels - who's on the other side?) If you don't mind, I'd love to post pictures of this over at my Killer Moth website.

And did you know that Killer Moth actually had plastic surgery (in Detective Comics #173) to resemble Bruce Wayne when he took over his Batman identity? I DO remember this now that you've mentioned it. Maybe it was stuck in the back of my sub-conscious and was a subtle influence on my choice of head. Now where can I get a Killer Moth box of my own? (I love all the classic villains on the panels - who's on the other side?) I actually have a standard WGSH size Killer Moth box that I was unable to use because it wasn't big enough (wings and all that). It's yours if you want since you ARE the biggest Killer Moth fan after all. Just PM me your address. On the sides are Calendar Man, Firefly, Signalman, Cluemaster, Deadshot and Cavalier. ( ) If you don't mind, I'd love to post pictures of this over at my Killer Moth website. Feel free...I'd be honored. Your site was a great refresher when I was researching K.M.
