Hey folks,
I suppose this is the right category for this. Last weekend I had a public exhibition of many of my customs as part of the big Free Comic Book Day event at my local store. Nothing significantly new (though there are some WIPs), but it's fun to see everything together. Click the banner below to see!

It was fun. And it turns out we had 2,400! (I just got the updated numbers.) Wowers! I did meet lots of interesting people, and some, uh, not so interesting... I was impressed with how many parents with kids I saw, and the kids loved it. Preparing the next generation...

WOW Casimir! Wonderful work! ;D I have been somewhat stymied myself by the animated type figures due to the sheer amount of sculpting needed, but man! You solve every figure and so well. I am indeed impressed! Thanks for sharing all that! Great site by the way. Very cool!

angremien,
Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate it.
Funny what you say about sculpting, though. My sculpting skill are still fairly rudimentary (though I am getting better), so I try to do as little as possible. I think the secret is a large variety of fodder to pull from. The more fodder types I can find, the better my chances of finding a part that will fit. Working at this scale is all about frankensteining.
Best,
C.

Ah! I see. I don't work in that scale as much so that logic hadn't occured to me. It does make sense. I have only repainted here and there. Maybe switched a head or so. Not much. It just takes access to a lot of figures or that creative eye to rework one to another, or to see one thing in the right figure. My Gentleman to Joker comes to mind. I am just not used to that scale or what's out there. But, anyway, your's are Very cool.

That's where Cason and i differ a bit.I tend to sculpt a lot more because Fodder is a bit thin on the ground over here and it can be just too hard to track stuff down. I'm far from a great Sculptor yet myself, still trying to get the hand of what's what. But it's all trial and error and i haven't pulled out all my hair just yet.

As my skills get better, I try to sculpt more. It simply makes for more accurate figures. But if an exitsing part works and I have it, I'll use it. It just saves time, which is always at a premium. Plus, after doing this for ten years, I have a lot of fodder! (I also can't walk down a toy aisle in stores without seeing the pegged figures as other characters.)

(I also can't walk down a toy aisle in stores without seeing the pegged figures as other characters.) I know that feeling all too well too my friend. In fact i was just looking at the new DCD solicit pics and thinking"now that fig would look good as........."It's a compulsion that's really hard to stop.

It's a scary second nature to develop. I don't even know I'm doing it!
