Hey guys! I meant to do this a few weeks ago when my membership was approved but got really caught up in a project.
Anyways, my name is Jordan, and from what I've read on this board I'm pretty sure I'm the youngest guy here (19 going on 20). I'm a filmmaker and study film at Arizona State. Batman has been a major influence in my life - the first movie I saw was Batman ('89), I learned how to read from Batman comics, and I developed the drawing style using the influences from different Batman comics and cartoons.
I'm still finishing up a short film right now, but I'll try to show up as often as I can until it's done. After that, you won't be able to get rid of me ;D
Before this thread goes off-topic, I've really wanted to make some custom toys of my own. I've started plenty of times, but I never seem to finish. I figured that if I joined this board, I might have some motivation to finish!
I really like the 8 inch scale, but I probably wouldn't make the figures too mego-like. They'd probably be more like what Type3Toys makes (or at least I'd want them to be like that ;D).
For my first (finished) project, I want to make a version of Batman that would be sort of as I'd want him to be. His costume would be completely black, in fact I kind of imagine a really simplified version of the 'Begins' costume but with more of the comic elements (no pupils, made of spandex, etc.) In fact, he would kind of resemble that one sketch of Batman that's supposed to be a design for the 'Batman Anime'.
I'll post more about it as I go along. I had drawn a picture of what I had in mind, but since all the details weren't concrete on my idea yet it just sort of morphed into the comic version of Batman with the Begins gauntlets. I still feel like the anime sketch is a little closer anyways...
