This is a bit OT but it deals with a project that was the catalyst to my introduction to this great hobby! I wanted to show some of the work here because of the privacy from the general public that this section of the board offers. Anyway, in the not so distant past I began working on developing assets for an animated short film based on the 1966 Batman show. I began searching the internet for reference material of all kinds (models, toys, props, photos etc etc). I found a whole community of Bat-fans and an encyclopedia of bat-knowledge known as Scot Fleming (aka Scooter). I contacted Scot and showed him what I was up to. I loved the work he’d done with the 66 era stuff which led to me ultimately getting hooked on the whole custom figure aspect. For my purposes the figures serve a couple of purposes . . . a great hobby but also great reference material and previz type artwork. As for details, this will be strictly a fan film funded entirely by myself. I will be producing the piece while on hiatus from other studio projects. I’m hoping to have it completed by the summer. I’m sure someone will have a problem with it from a legal standpoint but I’ll cross that bridge when I have to. Finally here are some images: some characters: A cameo appearance: Set piece in progress: Todd

WOW!! This is what a fan/pro project based on the 1966 vision of Batman should and could be all about. No more dumb amatuers goofing around in thrift store outfits trying to act. This is the real deal. It looks like a comic book come to life and gone back to being a living comic book kinda thing!!?? (You know what I mean!) If you could get the guys to reprise their roles in a recording studio too it would be the icing on the cake. As you have noted there are all kinds of legal tangles but that never stopped Sandy Collora and look what thay guy pulled off. I know Adam voiced a Batman student type of thing a while back so he may well be interested in assisting you. Thank you so much for sharing your vision with us. We are privileged. (A cool touch seeing Britt in there too!) The actual renderings are fabulous. I am not a lover of revivals and stuff but this is so off the wall it works because of how it looks, and looked back in 1966. INCREDIBLE!!!!

This is very exciting Todd, I really love the computer generated artwork. You have probably already thought of this but perhaps Wally Wingert could talk to Adam West for you, regarding Adam voicing his character, Wally is also a "voice over guy" with many immpressions. If you have never spoken with Wally, I'd be happy to ask him for you.
Please keep us up to speed on this project. Thanks for the sneek peek.

Thanks for the kind words Martin! The film that Adam did the voice for was called Batman New Times. The writer/directors William Vaughn and Jeff Sheetz are old friends of mine. William (or "Proton" as he's known) was head of character development tools for the company that creates the software I used for this. Jeff is a producer from the LA days that went off to Orlando to start a school (who's students produced that short). Will, I hadnt considered discussing the project with Wally but it may be an idea. One thing I dont want to do is to make any move prematurely. I was supposed to be wrapped on the feature I'm working on by now but the schedule has now been pushed until April. I'll have little time to devote to the project until then unfortunately. Without giving away too many details, what I've done to date is to pour over the series searching for random sound bites that I could put together into a cohesive narrative. The "script" I've written ustelizes various different lines from different episodes to tell the story. This way I wouldnt have to use new material . . . just deal with trying to get clean audio ripped. Well I've probably said too much now becasue I may even trash that concept all together It would be the highlight of my career if Adam and/or Burt were willing to lend their voices but They'd have to do it either out of the goodness of their own heart or a fee that would be so nominal it would insult! Whatever happens I'll keep you posted!

Actually Todd, If you can't get West himself, You should consider Scott Sebring (a Proffessional West style Batman) who does appearences with George Bariss & the batmobile. Scott has developed a very convincing "Adam West" voice impression with complete phrasing and manorizms of the former Bat-star. If you don't know Scott I would be happy to hook you guys up together. I'm sure Scott would jump at the chance to partake in this project.

Scott Sebring is more Adam West then even Adam West as far as sounding like he did in 66'
