I thought I would share these great paint ups by Martin. The BATMAN/WEST sculpt is from Russ and one of the finest I have ever seen. Martin has done an amazing job on making him look almost life-like. The black on the ears is a new twist Mart has tried out and I have to say it looks fantastic. ROBIN is a sculpt from Will, who was kind enough to send him to me. As you can see Robin looks very life-like as well. Mart has a great eye for detail and always does such brilliant work. The eyes are truly incredible on both of these figures, right down to the flesh seen around the inner parts of their masks. Big thanks to both Martin and Will for being such generous and thoughtful guys. I will be sure to post finished pics when their outfits are complete.

No problem at all mate. It is a pleasure to lend a hand. I always say I ain't the greatest painter out there but I will do my best if I can for anyone who needs some help. I hope to improve with each one I do. I try to get something kinda 'Mego-ish' with a bit of a nod towards realism as that 'nod' is about as far as I can get given my current skill level. I enjoy it a heck of a lot all the same. The black ears are something that I should have done in the past but for some bizarre reason never really felt it looked right despite Adam sporting that look in the show. (Yeah mad I know!!) I wanted to try it out and now wonder why I never did it right first time. I painted my own one again too. The finished job is generally only as good as the original sculpt and as you have noted these are great pieces of work to begin with. Will is a top guy for lending a hand and getting many of us on the road to owning our own Dynamic Duo action figures, something I'm sure many of us dreamt of as kids. Glad you like 'em. Keep us up on the costumes mate. That is what is so great here. We are a gang of fellas all at different levels with slightly different ideas on what we want from these figures but we all get along and enjoy what the others do and take something from every post, I know I do anyhow, good on ya Will for setting it all up mate.

Hey Ape, congrats on a step further towards having a great Dynamic duo set. Martin did an outstanding job on the paint work, and as Martin has mentioned, he would be happy to assist in painting heads for anyone, so everyone keep that in mind. Can't wait to see some costuming Andy, keep the pics comming bro. Will

I'm not sure I understand the ears surprise. I have never NOT painted the ears black. That's the only way to go.

I believe it was just an oversight on Marty's part which he has corrected now. I didnt notice that mart's werent done on his custom.

Yeah, like I said I always knew they were meant to be black but for some reason never thought I liked the look of them on a figure. Mental, I know so to paint them was a new thing for me that's all not some kinda great discovery on my part about the actual cowls Adam wore. I just decided to try it on Andy's and suddenly the 'clouds rose' and it dawned on me that it looks good and more importantly 'right' so from now on I will always do it. No excuses on my part at all just a weird aversion I had for some strange reason. Nice shot of the cowl. Is it yours Scot. Cool stuff.

I must have missed that earlier explanation by Marty. I just caught the first "new twist" statement and then Kevin sounded surprised too. Sorry to rush in unaware.
No, that's not my cowl. I don't own one right now. I had a Wally cowl but I had gotten it third hand and it was not his best work (that's what he told me) so it was sold. I'd like to get another someday and a Billy belt too. Maybe after Christmas.

No sweat fella. I'd love a TV style cowl myself. I wouldn't be running around in it but I'd like to try it on every so often so would want one that was an exact fit and as good as some of these fan built cowls are, gee that sounds bad referring to them as that, very few fit the head of the owner. For display alone though they all seem to look just the greatest.
