I have had for years an old resin cast Barris Batmobile that is 1/25th scale. Not being a very experienced car modeler ( I NEVER get good gloss finishes etc.) I have been reluctant to start this kit.
I did replace the cast wheels provided with proper Futura (actually GTX Street Machine parts) rubber tires and rims, but am not sure about the level of finishment on it.
I will endeavor to post pics soon and many of you may know what kit this is. It's an old Tad Dowdy/Jim Key pattern kit. Does this ring a bell to anyone?
If so, tell me to either stop now, or what to do with it. It's a strange kit in some ways. a square box for the cab that inserts from the bottom etc. Nice clear parts though. Looks like it could be pretty nice when finished.
Any comments would be helpful. Pics are coming.

A good trick to get that shiny finish is to paint it in Matt and then get a semi-gloss spray sealer from the Hobby Shop. That can get a nice even overall finish to the paintwork.

I've got to try that out. Experiment and all. I really am not a car modeler at all. Not really. Not like they are supposed to be anyway. Glossy like that. That is what scares me about cars. How do you keep dust off from settling on it? I can handle the rest of the paint job I think, the gloss is the big part for me.

I would be interested in seeing pics of this model, take a few shots and send em over if you can.
As for "Dust Free" I once made a 2'X2' box with a turntable from an old record plater and I had a hole in the top of the spray box with a hand held vaccume fitted in to suck dust and overspray whilst i painted. Now I have a used range hood exhaust fan which I bought at a thrift store for $10.00, that is attached to the cieling area above my work station and not only sucks up dust & overspray, it has built in lights and different fan speed settings.
