This is a Batmobile kit that I actually just bought the molds to. I am releasing it as a model in about a month. It is pretty big. For Mego scale which is truly about 1:9.5 (they were 7.5" tall) this will look just right. I am using it for the Hasbro 9" doll scale which I work with, (which are true 1:8 scale) the fit will be a little tight, but it will be accurate. This photo shows an early build up of the kit posed with Jonathan Moore doll that I own. I will hopefully have a finished one with my own 1:8 Adam west set. It's much more accurate than the Joemobile (different scale) to start with, and because it will be cast in resin, it will be super easy to cutomize. -S

WOWSA! That's a nice one! I have seen a 1/6 but I believe this one has the lines down better. A more accurate version even if for the scale. Wonderful.

Well it's good news bad news kind of thing. These were created and intended for the scale model world. Not the mego guy world. What's the difference? Well, while they fit Megos and 9" Hasbros and FC's great, the kit is a lot of work. The bodies and parts are resin. Model guys like that opportunity to go nuts detailing and sanding and prepping etc.
That being said however, Chris - I have one body done in fiberglass as a whole piece that I could easily prep to be vacuformed. However - it is a 29" long batmobile when it is finished. Could your machine handle that kind of size? because if it could - the whole body shell can be mounted on any 1:8 rolling chassis and the extra parts can be done in resin and the thing won't be such a hassle to finish. especially if it was vacced in ABS black.
Let me know what you think. -S

hmmm 29 inchs ya say, well i have came across this very problum with the keaton car.what i figured is this , make a plaster casteing of the car, make it in 2 sectons . then it can be put togeteher as one peice. i was thinking on chopping the keaton car on a body line running around the windsheild and down the side. this will hide the cut nicely i think. i think the same method could be applyed here on this one as well. the vaccuume press is 18 inches long and 13 wide . but i really beleve it would work i have thought about it for a while . let me know what ya think scooter. there will be some thinking involved but i dont see with all the talent we have here why we cant get er done. the abs plastic is hard enough to keep its shape nicely so when you put the body togeteher i think it will look seemless.

As far as making it into a kit - I bailed and sold the molds to a guy from California who will hopefully have better luck than me.
I have the fiberglass master which is the one I am finishing to sell now.
And I have a special, hollow cast one I kept for myself to finish an opening doors, trunk, hood version when I get some time. -S
