Not seen it in the stores yet. Looks cool and you can 'play' with it when you've done too. How cool is that. Thanks for pointing it out. I have the complete 2005 BATMAN Warner Bros/DC merchandise 100 page brochure issued for Toy Fair which I attended and this is not in there so maybe for the UK it is not gonna be released. Cool to see though, thanks.

I was skeptical over the new batmobile until I saw it in action throughout the movie. I developed a new fondness and respect for it and think it's pretty bass ass.
My only problem is that the front tires would be vunerable to blowouts being so exposed like they are, especially when crashing through concrete barricades.

I'm not sure but were the tyres meant to be solid rubber or something to avoid just that problem. Maybe it is in the novelisation or 'making of' book?

Still have mixed feelings about the car. I want the model, especially if you can "play" with it after. But, I share the tires bit. Seems odd that they would be THAT tough. Tough enough to withstand concrete... I guess I still like my Batmobiles a tad more elegant.
Maybe next time. Maybe, this Batman has multiple Batmobiles...

Elegant is a good word. The Batmobile should have some sleek style- sorely lacking in the Begins "tank". If that thing wasn't black, it wouldn't make you think of Batman at all. It's a cool looking vehicle, just not very "Batmobiley" (ike THAT's a real word!)

Like so many, I'm in the camp that has to be persuaded about this new Batmobile, but here's some fascinating reading I found yesterday: www.howstuffworks.com/batmobile.htm All about how the cars were constructed for use on the film. And here's a fun fact: there was no CGI Batmobile used! And the only old-fashioned model was for the roof jumps. Everything else was real and full scale.Kinda makes the Bandai model more tempting now... Casimir

I have really been in love with this new Batmobile since i saw the early pics. Now don't get me wrong i have loved every single Batmobile there ever has been in any form,it's kind of an obsession for me. The Tumbler although nothing like traditional or classic in it's lines or design has a mean practicality about it that really thrills me.To see it in action just blew me away,it's a Tank built to retake the failing Gotham City in a war that the Bat is fighting. As the movies progress i am fairly certain there will probably be an evolution of the Bat's"Ride"and that's cool. But for now i like change and am happy for it. On a side note Hot Wheels will be releasing a 1:18 Tumbler done in the same detailed style as the Keaton Batmobile was in August.Another must,i'll try to locate some pics for you all.

In England we are getting a Scalextric slot car race set too. I have pics but can't post. If anybody wants to see I can email them. Just holler. Mart

Don't get me wrong, FB. I completely agree with your comments. Seeing the film really cemented that for me.
And I may be skipping the main Mattel toy offerings (I think they look like toys from 10 years ago), but the die-cast 1:18 tumbler is a must!

Yeah, I'm all over that 1/18th job! I have the Keaton car and it is a top favorite of my entire collection. Very nice piece. If they are releasing the Tumbler, that will do for me. BTW, I hear that they are releasing the 60's TV car in it's accurate Barris version, not some intermediary comics version. I can only hope!

Quote Les " BTW, I hear that they are releasing the 60's TV car in it's accurate Barris version, not some intermediary comics version. I can only hope!" The Danbury mint had plans to release a barris versuion Batmobile di-cast, and I had 3 reserved, then they ended up doing the version which Polar Lights did. What a dissapointment. What info have you got regarding a TV batmobile Les? do tell. Will

I'll look back into that. I do recall seeing a list of the Hot Wheels cars that were going to come out soon to tie into this new movie. I remember seeing that the Barris car was to be released as a version. I will do some snooping and see if I can find the reference I read... Stay tuned!

Have you seen the Tumbler in life yet? I figure you have, what with all the adventures I see around here...
I want to know how big it is when standing next to it. Looks pretty big. Trying to figure out how big that 1/35 model will be accordingly.
