I thought I'd show off my only custom Batmobile here. Not being a car modeler by trade, I can't compete with those that can do such great work on the Barris cars etc., but I did try hard on this one. It's my version on the very first car that was represented in the earliest comics. I like to think that the comics were referring to this car and not a literal take on what was drawn. That's my little fantasy idea. So, here's my take on the very first ever, "rocket car" version of the very first Batmobile. Hope you like. Les

I can't see anything on my screen. I really want to check it out too! Is it just my clunky old computer?

Holy petunias! That is a thing of beauty, angremien! If I saw that on a store shelf I'd snap it up in a heartbeat!
Pardon my car modeling ignorance, but how did you create/shap the fins and bat-face? They look professionally molded.

Oh, sorry. I guess it would help to know certain details. It's 1/24th scale. About 16" from the front shield tip to the back tip of the large fin. It's made from a real cheapo low rider snap together that I saw and said "That's the Batmobile!" So, I went to work. The fins and additions are all sheet styrene and were each handcrafted. I bent them as needed made opposing mates for each to maintain symmetry and then trimmed the edges by hand with an exacto and sort of shaved it down to blend the trims with the edges etc. Then sanded profusely to blend it all. Added the engines from the Anakin Skywalker Pod-racer model kit because they looked like the very first jet engines or something. I kind of thought, what if Bruce Wayne developed that back in 1939 or earlier. If you look between the back engine exhausts, there is a small ode to the TV Batmobile in the addition of a parachute pouch. I like really big fins on my Batmobiles, so I did that. Added more than the old drawing did. It's my favorite thing about the Batman Forever car. This one is much bigger in scale though. That's the other thing, I wanted to make this one the largest ever. It's pretty darned big. It has guns mounted in front and a posable horizontal fin in front on the bottom to add drag to keep the nose down, like a dragster. Also, I figured that he may need to jettison the large fin and the jet engines in a hurry, so all that is made to look as though it can come off, leaving the two smaller side fins in back and still look cool. There is the regular engine system in it, as you can see from the lower exhausts and the usual side systems. Glad you all like it.
