I can't help with who it is Todd but I would recomend giving some details like height, articulation and possibly a shot of the nude figure to show the joints. Is there any stampings on the back, neck or underside of the foot? this may also help in identifying him for you.

I'm guessing Todd just has the photo to go on, not the doll in hand?
I am just as stumped actually. Tim might know. Looks like a 12" Mego body from that big barrel chest but those feet are odd. I'll do some digging.

Yeah, I only have that picture not the actual doll. I do know that it is a 1:6 scale.
The reason I like this partcular one is because I think it has good looking hands. I havent yet found a good set of "relaxed" hands on any of the doll types out there (in this scale anyway) I want to keep away from the standard "holding a gun" style hands. The newer medicom hands are pretty good but a pain to try and modify to work on other types of figures.

Yeah the hands were the first thing I noticed. I've never seen others that looked so natural.

What you see there is a re-dressed figure of Dirk Pitt from the movie Sahara. They were made by 21st Century Toys, and were sold as a set with the other character from the movie, along with a pretty nice jeep. See pic below: Note the hand sculpts and the head sculpt of the figure in the pic. These were available at Wal-Mart for awhile, but they've been MIA for some time now...
