OK. I admit it, I am not the most informed Adam West Batman guy here. In fact, I am sadly in need of a refresher course. (Why can't the show be on DVD already so I can find my references!!!!) Anyway... I am about to embark on my communal West custom. Why communal? I have a head from Scooter (THANKS!!) , a nice grey body suit from Dr. Mego, Cape material from Martin (thanks Marty!, nice navy blue satin gloves from Ebay that Will put me onto (thanks Will!), a belt from Diver4... And...that's what I have... What I don't have is an emblem, no idea what that little fringe under his chin is or how to make it... And...If I make this figure, how on Earth to get all the materials for a Burt Ward Robin!!!! ;D I know I will want one... but I can deal with that later... So, I know most of you guys are laughing your collective butts off now...fine...yeah, I know, go ahead...I'm smiling too ;D ... It's just, this one is sort of the Holy Grail figure for me. The one I have put off doing. Maybe I have just built it up too much. I have some nice stills thanks to Marty and some off the internet, but I don't want to inadvertantly mix seasonal versions or something that shows how ignorant of this figure I am. SO...here I am. Asking. What's the BEST West? What's a good one to make? I have many of the parts. I have the ability to make the danged thing, and I have no idea how to start him correctly. I'm in no hurry. This one's for me. Any info would be helpful. Thanks. Oh, and don't worry. I am living over at Tips, Tricks and How-to...

Well, you KNEW I was going to chime in on this one...
I would just direct you to my site - in the 12" galleries, I have a page devoted to my ongoing Adam West project and it will give you some more ideas. But here are some short answers:I am about to embark on my communal West custom. Why communal? I have a head from Scooter (THANKS!!) I may have a much better one for you than that, Les. Let's talk. a nice grey body suit from Dr. Mego, Really? In 12" scale, I have to check that out!Cape material from Martin (thanks Marty!, nice navy blue satin gloves from Ebay that Will put me onto (thanks Will!) I'd like to see these too! Really, satin gloves? Help me out here!a belt from Diver4 No, No, No, you need MY belt Les. Seriously. I have the BEST belt.... And...that's what I have... What I don't have is an emblem, Yep, Will or I can help you there. I've got laser-cut sign shop vinyl emblems and so does Will.no idea what that little fringe under his chin is or how to make it... It's not fringe, it's actually the bottom wrap around snap part of his cowl. Called the cowl bib. Then the cape goes over that. I have some pics that will make that understandable. You can do it in a solid that you paint like the satin, or make it out of the cape material coming down from the head. Will can show you that method. And...If I make this figure, how on Earth to get all the materials for a Burt Ward Robin!!!! ;D I know I will want one... but I can deal with that later... That's a whole other ball of wax... LOL.And I'll tell you right now it's mnay times harder than West!

Ahhhhh! I knew it!
Well, OK. So, I have what I have. I'll try and get the Ebay site I got the gloves from. (See Ebay Item number 6805573015 for the moment) They are awesome! I have the belt and am not too nuts about it, but I have it. I NEED the emblem in 1/6 of course, and the cape material Martin sent me is beautiful, but it may not drape all that much. It's more appropo for a wide cape pose or such as it's stiffer. But it's nice stuff unlike any I have found.
Robin, furgetaboutit! [glow=red,2,300]Later![/glow] Shouldn't have even mentioned him now.
The cowl bib, I'm listening... A new head? OK. But note that I just want him with the cowl on. I am not after a bare West head with cowl. Especially, unless it looks so good that I should get it anyway!
So...on this goes... Thanks for any comments so far.... I'll post some pics of the materials I have on hand etc.

Scot the satin gloves Les is refering too are not Batman gloves, they are womens stretch satin wedding gloves. They are for material only, for making tight fitting gloves, trunks or even cover a cowl. Heres a link for them, they come in navy Blue. stores.ebay.com/ANGELS-BRIDAL-SHOP_BRIDAL-SATIN-OPERA-GLOVES_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQftidZ2QQtZkm Les! I'll get some emblems popped off and send you a few within the next couple weeks. As far as the "Best West" the cowls throught the season only have minor differences. The main thing you need to decide is which belt style to go with. There is the first season version which has the pouch flaps that fold down from the top. The second and more widely seen belt pouch is a more solid looking pouch with a thin strap which comes up from the bottom of the pouches and snaps in the center. Heres a link to a thread in the Questions section which has pics of the first version belt, (my personal fave) wildwilly.proboards21.com/index.cgi?board=questions&action=display&thread=1115240128Will

Thanks big time bro! I agree about the belt. First season looks better to me as well. I am using everything I can to work this one up. It will be a little while, but all this info is not being wasted! And thanks for the emblems, in advance of course! (Any Robin ones would be appreciated also as he will be next!)
