It occured to me that while folks like Faithbutler and myself take the concept of CustomCon for granted, many of you may not be familiar with it. If not, check out the details of CustomCon 13 here: www.joeacevedo.com/docs/customzone/customcon/customconguidelines.htmI've participated many times, and I've hosted it twice. (Joe Ace usually hosts the Fall event, and RTM and myself have hosted the last two Spring events.) It's always fun to see lots of new customs at once, by new practicioners and old pros. Most of the entries tend to be Super Hero related (my efforts to expand into G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Transformers and Wrestling territory have mostly failed), and most are in the 4"-7" range. I'd love to see some of the larger scales with cloth outfits that so many of you create. We put these on in Spring and Fall, so if you miss one, there's always another coming. Casimir

It really is worth your time to have a look through the Cons guys,i look forward to the Cons coming around. And Cas is right, larger scale stuff and even non-Superhero related entries would be very welcome! There's more than enough for everyone to enter.

And P.S.: It's not a contest! It's just for fun and giggles, so there's no pressure. Just wanted to make that clear.
(Personally, I don't care for most customizing contest. They tend to violate the spirit of the hobby. There are exceptions, of course.)

Thanks for the info Cas. Between this and the Tomart thing, there is a need to display some figure work of late.

This is super cool. I have a dumb question, which I could probably answer myself if I spent some time reading. This event takes place on-line or will these figures all be on display somewhere?

Oh, it's all on-line. It's a "fake" convention. The original idea, and this still applies for the most part, is that this is modelled after the New York Toy Fair. Each line of customs is presented as if it were new product displayed to retailers. Check out some of the old cons and you'll see what I mean. And there are no dumb questions... C.

Cas is right it's a lot of fun to get involved with and it's hugely popular.I'll be entering some stuff[if i can get it finished in time ]and i've got plans for the next one too. It's a great way to get your work seen by even more people without going into competition.Which i'm not overly keen on either.

Just remember guys, it's not a contest. Just a "fake Toy Fair." It's all in fun. Sadly, I probably won't have anything ready in time. Seems this wedding is my project for the moment. C.

If I had a body of work I'd probably do this too as I think the idea is neat. Maybe next year. Looking forward to seeing it though!
Hope you win the contest Jason!!
Just kidding guys!!

I just wanted to give an update. The guy incharge Emailed me, & took about 30 of my pics for the con. I don't know how many customs were in there... I'm kinda excited. This is all very interesting to me. First time ever for me & the con. Thanks Caz, for the heads up, Karma for you!
