Hello I just acquired this unbelievable head off ebay , now the hard and fun stuff begins, heres my plan, I would love to make a copy of the head ( for my own use) since Ive never seen its equal, not to take away from all of the other very tableted artist on this board , I say this because I have it , thats all, anyway I have this vision of having my Bruce figure at the top of a brass scale Bat-pole with a Batman at or toward the bottom in full bat gear thats the plan, for now until something I don't know how to do changes my vision, also if anyone knows who made this head , i bought it from a feela named Lonnie hale, just let them know i love it , my wife thinks I'm nuts because i just sit and stare at it

That is a nice likeness mate. I would love to do some similar type of thing one time as well so do keep us up on how it goes. Scot may be able to confirm but it may be a Jim Maddox sculpt. I like all the ones I see here and as Adam changed his hair and the make-up slightly over the three seasons all catch a different aspect of his rugged good looks. This will be a winner when you get it painted mate. Good luck and I can tell you I know exactly why you sit and stare at it. IT IS BANG ON!

Personally I'd rather see pam Anderson on a Brass pole but I'll settle for Bruce, ;D
What a great concept Mike, That will be a nice display depicting Man to Bat. Is this head for a 12" figure or 8" Mego? I'm guessing 12" and get excited to see more & more larger scale customs being created here.
Good luck with the project and if you need assistance with anything feel free to post your inquiries in the "Ask questions" section.

Lonnie Hale is Jim Maddox's caster. Jim sculpted the head. It is a 1:6 scale 12" Dragon style mount. Jim has NOT sculpted a Burt Ward in this scale yet.
Jim is working on a set of both Ward and West in this style for me but in the 1:8 or 9" scale. That's a little bigger than Mego scale.

I totally love the pole idea! Like, totally! That would be specatcular. I very much hope that you are able to see that vision through to completion and I applaud you for coming up with such a nifty concept. I am a little woozy over keeping track of who did which Adam West head but this is an absolute beaut!

Mike sorry mate, I am a little dumb and unfamiliar with all of you sculpting and moulding guys techniques. Is this like maybe a clay mask you sculpted over the head or a rubber cowl you moulded and then fitted on the head you have? Whatever it is, for a first attempt at anything like that, which I know it is, it looks great. Obviously need cleaning up but overall it is a good job. I guess it all depends on how 'bang 'on' you want it. Every single Adam/Batman figure there is, mine included, has elements which are a maybe little off but the overall impression is a good one of the TV Batman. This gives that impression too. I think, like you, that maybe the front seam on the cowl does adjustment but even then I have seen a lot worse versions out there. I can happy email a whole bunch of good face shots of Adam if you like. You may well have lots of your own but I would be happy too. I guess given that there were 120 episodes and the movie the mask obviously changed a little as the show progressed. Just go for a look you find satisfying I guess. Keep us up on it mate. Looking good so far. Sorry I can't offer help technically.

Looking good so far Mike, Here are a few "off" things which imediately catch my eye and some methods to correct them. Altough the Maddox's sculpt is very good, I find it to be somewhat thin around the lower face & jaw area and adding a cowl onto it gives it a light bulbous shape. 2 ways to correct this would be: # 1- Shave off the hair & ears of the sculpt and then add the cowl. This will thin out the sides of the head and not make the face look so narrow. # 2- add some thickness to the cheeks and jaw to fill it out a little more. ( this may take above moderate sculpting skillz. as you would need to do the same for the plain Bruce head.) The most obvious thing I spotted right off the ....uh bat! is that the eye holes are not lined up properly. Here are some rough reference points for you. # 1- The bottom edges of the eye holes should be parralell to the bottom edge of the cowl & the outside corners of the eye holes should start slightly in from the seam, like this: # 2- get rid of the forehead seam altogether.(It does not exist) it it mearly a Painted line not a seam. The cowl consists of 3 pieces of fabric which fit together like this: So if you do seams, do them as shown. In, slightly from the corner and up over the head and down the back keeping the 2 sides parralell untill they taper in near the bottom of the back. # 3- Once you have painted your Navy blue satin color, use Flat black and paint the face as outlined below. As you will see the black starts outside of the upward seams and crosses them onto the forehead area. Please excuse the sloppy Photoshop'N I just wanted to illustrate what I'm refering to. Hope this helps Weeze. Will

Nice job, Will. Great info. By the way - if you are just sculpting the cowl onto this head to NOT be a removable one - then I would advise you to try to beg Lonnie to simply sell you the cowled version which already exists. It is this head with the cowl already sculpted. It is very nice as well. -S

Hey Scot although I think Weeze is well on his way to making his own great cowled Bats. Perhaps you could show us an image of the cowled version if for nothing else, a reference.
