This is going to be a disturbing film. Not your Daddy's Batman!

Yuck! I'm not diggin' this first look at all! He looks like a cross between Robert Smith of the CURE circa 1985 and Captain Spaulding from House Of A 1000 Corpses.

while i dont like the paint application effect Nolan's going for as i rpefer the classic skin stained look i must admit the self induced carved smile does fit with the darker image Nolan's going for and does fit the Joker from the killing joke in some ways
but i'll have to wait for more pics to make my mind up

from descriptions i have read he seems to be rather similar to the joker in the new 'The Batman' cartoon you know torn clothes and raggedy appearance and all

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAME! Ok not entirely... but What can I say? I'm a fan of the forced smile from the chemicals. Not to mention that even after this picture I still can't see Heath Ledger as Joker. I mean hey I grew up knowing about him from 10 Thing I hate About You... not someone I can see as the joker. I kept hearing rumors that Mark Hammill would show up as the joker... and I gotta say I got my hopes reeaaallly high for that one... maybe not by looks but how could you be unhappy with someone who's been voicing Joker for YEARS? All else I have to say is... Heather Ledger better have one f**king creepy laugh. P.S. Have you heard who they want for Harley Quinn? I'm insanely disappointed with her too! They chose a much older (and older looking) woman than one would expect Harley to be... I hate myself for forgetting her name... but personally... I'd choose Hudson Leick she's gorgeous and knows how to play a crazy psycho giggley lunatic... (btw I know I'm off topic at this point :-p)

Hhhmmmm.... definitely on the fence over this pic. As a fan of the darker, more homicidal type of Joker, I'm pleased, as this has a distinct disturbing "feel" to it. I could even buy the carved in smile (since they seem to have allowed for a non-smiling expressive ability, too), but the overdone lipstick look? Uh-uh. They're gonna have to win me over on that one...
Thanks for passing on the pic, Pete! ;D

Not sure what to think at the moment...It kind of reminds me of Buffalo Bob from “Silence of the Lambs” for some reason. Of course this may be just a make up test for all we know.
With all the comic reference they went with in the first film you would think they would stick to a more comic based Joker origin.
I thought the “Killing Joke” was one of the best comics to reinterpret the Red Hood/Joker origin.
And I guess all of the pre-Joker stuff is going to be flashbacks? The Joker was already in business at the end of Batman Begins.

Well at least he aint goofy looking like the characters played by Jim Carrey or Arnie makng the movie more appealing to grade schoolers rather then the diehard bat-fans. I'm intriqued to see more of this look.

They have built ten of these for various purposes. ... They are planning on having the Bat-cycle 'emerge' from the Tumbler. The use of CGI may be incorporated to make it happen." also four scenes are being filmed in IMAX the joker's introduction and some fight scenes with bats and J J involved

Great links and cool pics, Thanks Kalel, Although blurry, I can see they went with the green hair, white face and purple suit. Can't say Im too intrigued by the sound of a "Tumbler Cycle" but I'll wait and see it before I pass judgement on it. Will
