Here's a sneak peek of a Bruce Lee scuplt which I have been messing around with. I have done more tweaking since these pics and have molded him already, hopefully I'll have a completed figure done within the next couple weeks. Will

Nice job mate! I can see I'm in good company here. I am a life-long Bruce Lee enthusiast and a GREEN HORNET fan too. Of all the many action figures of The Little Dragon which have been made available over the last five or six years very few have captured his likeness as well as yours seems to have done. I guess we are looking at Bruce around late 1972 here? GAME OF DEATH/ENTER THE DRAGON era judging by the hairstyle? The Medicom 12 Inch Kato is a real nice figure as is the smaller Mego style double pack. Congrats pal. GREEN HORNET chats are welcome here too I reckon! I know we are all Mego fans here and I have to ask if the figure is gonna be to that type of scale? If so there will be a sad irony. One of the last deals Bruce Lee was involved with just before his tragic passing was with Hanna Barbera for the rights to produce an animated series about him. Given that if he had lived the series would probably have aired maybe around 1975 there is a good chance that we could have seen a Mego Bruce Lee figure in an animated style perhaps too. What if huh!! If you want some nice scans of Bruce in an animated style I can email them over if you are planning on doing a box. He was drawn in this style for the posters for the GREEN HORNET compilation movies and I have original theatre posters. Just shout mate.

Thanks Mart, I'm glad you like it. It started off as a Lionrock scale but it ended up slightly big looking for the 7" body, it looks great on a regular 8" Mego so that's what he will be finished on.
You are right on the money with "Game Of Death" That is exactly the era I was shootin for, in fact I have a nice white Dr. Mego jumpsuit which I am gonna transform into bruce's Yellow w/ black stiped suit.
I would love any and all pictures you may have of Bruce, I do plan on making a box but havent any good images as of yet.

Don't forget to do the proper Onitsuka Tiger track shoes too. Maybe a footprint on the chest as well! Get some dirt or light paint on a GI Joe foot and stamp it on. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes out.

Great job! You can include me in the Bruce Lee fan club too! Must be something about our generation. I hope you will post this when you're done! Will- you are a real craftsman and I'm quite in awe of your talent. I'm a huge Hanna-Barbera fan, so I can't help but wonder what a Bruce Lee cartoon might have been like. Of course they would have given him a talking dog or some sort of "cute" co-star.

Hey fellas! Of course this is complete supposition on my part as discussions were in the very early stages when Bruce passed away but I kinda reckon the show would have been a little like how the MR T show was. Bruce would have had a group of teenage kids and probably a pet baby Dragon or something helping local people with problems and stuff. Apparently Hanna Barbera commissioned a lay out artwork splash of Lee in action and profiles of his face which Bruce liked very much as a starting point. I have never seen it and imagine it would be worth a great deal of money of it were to come up at auction. What an amazing show it would have been for kids in the 1970s.

I wonder if the demise of that Bruce project had anything to do with the release of "Hong Kong Phooey"
Thou I'm not certain of the date and timeframe of the HKP cartoon, it seems kinda symbloic that a Martial artist Dawg would be running around saving the day.
Any thoughts on this?

HONG KONG PHOOEY was indeed created to exploit the popularity of the whole Bruce Lee/Kung Fu thing in 1974. An irony was that the character was voiced by veteran actor Scatman Crothers who had then recently appeared with ENTER THE DRAGON star Jim Kelly in BLACK BELT JONES a film produced by much of the team behind the Bruce Lee classic.

Yeah , good ol'Hanna-Barbera were the exploitation KINGS! Almost everything they did in the 70's was clearly jumping on some bandwagon. Scatman was a strange and memorable choice for the voice though.
