...HAH! I had just logged on to post pics of this guy and saw Les' thread! Well, your wish is my command, Figuremaster! ;D I picked one of these up last week and had NO time to do photos til this week. I was all set NOT to like this figure until I saw one in person. I knew I HAD to have it. It's actually a REALLY nicely done figure, and easily the best mass produced COMIC version of Batman ever. Take a look.... As you can see, the articulation is pretty fair, and he comes with some nice accessories. He doesn't really need the stand, but it's got a nice Bat logo on it, so that's cool. And the headsculpt is just outstanding! As you can see in the last pic, you can get some very moody looks with this guy. All in all: well worth what I paid for him, and an essential part of my Batman collection. Hope this helps, ya'll (although it may not help some of your wallets!! )

Well, that's good news and bad news for me Roy. After seeing that this is indeed out, (Thanks for the great photos!) I called my local comics shop, where, to the best of my knowledege, I put in an order for one several months back, and have mentioned it every time I have gone in the shop....and they did't get it. Owner says he didn't even order it for me! [glow=red,2,300]Can you say dumbass![/glow] Strike one comic shop patron from his roster! SO, you got any leads as to where in hell I can get one? ;D It ain't on Ebay...yet...

Score, Les!! I think you'll be very happy with this guy; there are a lot of nice features, and much as I hate to admit it, the SIZE is one of 'em! Sure, he's bigger than all my other 1/6 figures, but there's something about having a Batman figure this nicely done that is so BIG that is really appealing. Other nice details: the "trunks" portion of the suit is actually a separate piece, the open hands have poseable fingers, the soles of the boots have Bat emblem detailing, and though the cape has no wires in it for posing, the leatherette material is stiff enough to provide some poseability, and it's constructed in panels to give the proper look of the cape. The folding Batarang accessory is nice, too. The only REAL problem with this guy? I like him so much, I'm seriously considering picking up the rest of the JLA heroes as they're released....

Truth is, as nice as he is, as is, I wanted him for an Alex Ross figure conversion. Wouldn't take much more than extending the ears. I may, repeat, may add a really large soft leather cape...maybe. And will for sure lose those wierd outer leg calf muscles that stick out. Just sand them off. Otherwise, he is a keeper and a collection headliner for sure! And, I have a Superman to go with him! ;D

Cool looking figure there. I notice some unsightly points & bumps throught the body but overall it looks great!
Thanks for all the detailed pics Roy, you have really put the posing through the test and it passes. What's the price for one of these?

Well, Les, he's a great jumping off point for an Alex Ross style Batman, and considering it was Ross himself who was approached by DC in the design phase of these figures, it somehow seems even more fitting to adapt one of these guys into that style of Batman.
Will: yeah, some of the cuts in the limbs that allow for articulation could have been better positioned, and the body sculpt could have been done in such a way to smooth over the odd bumps here and there. But yeah, overall, it's a pretty sweet figure. Especially for a mass produced one. Oh, and price tag? Right now it's $69.99. But in a month or two? I'm betting it'll start climbing. SHARPLY.

LOL Guys. I am once again in the minority. I had been so into this figure when they showed the previews of it and now that they changed the head in the final version - I really don;t like it half as much. The way it was before was very Mazzucchelli/Wagner (my 2 favorites) and now with only seemingly small sculpt changes - it's much more Ross/Lee and I think we've got way enough of those in custom form and statues and other sizes etc. Too bad. (for me anyway) I'll still get it I guess. If for nothing else but to rip the parts for something else. It does look like a phenomenal doll, just not the one I was hoping for. (same story different year) Oh and Roy - I have an unopened Green Lantern if you really want to start collecting the 13" set. \ -S

Yeah Scot, I agree that had this been more a for sure design in the likes a of a Mazzucchelli/Wagner, then I doubt I would touch it to redo it. That would have been a nice addition to any collection. As it is, it's too close to Ross not to convert it, to me that is. I'm still grabbing it fast. I think Roy's right. This one will sell well and peak soon! Think about it guys!

Speaking as a non-collector of 12" stuff, when I saw this guy at the LCS last weekend, I was tempted. I thought it looked pretty nifty, and I liked the style. (Though, clearly I don't have the eye for technical details at this scale as do so many experts here.) Nonetheless, I thought it was keen. Might have to track one down one day. Some day when I'm not assembling shelves for toys. (That day has to come, right?)

I do Have this... My only complaint is that they sewed the boots up the front, as opposed to sewing them up the back... Other than that, very cool figure. I think it looks alot like Jim Lee's Batman & Robin figure.

I like it from what i see,but not over the Moon about it.The Head doesn't light my fire too much but i guess i'm spoiled by people like Roy and Les when it comes to great larger scale Heads. Way out of my price range yet again though, thanks for the pics Roy!

Hey fellas! I've been pretty busy this last week so not been around. I just saw this figure at the store. For me in England the price is way higher even than you US fellas but as a piece to look at it blew me away. Maybe each of us has our own vision or favoured interpretation of the character. I know I have but this guy pretty much looks to me like the best action figure/doll/articulated model whatever that has been put out. In terms of full body movement and seperate clothing it is the tops. Very nice indeed and I really envy anybody who has one. Top stuff and thanks for a nice couple of images at the start of the thread.
