This is a new one for me. I just got a ROCKY Burgess Meredith figure which I plan to make into a Mego style TV Penguin. The top half of the body is nicely articulated and under clothes will be fine but I need to take the area below the waist off and maybe make new legs or add the top half to slightler taller legs. Do you boil the figure in hot water or something. Like I say I am more a Mego GI JOE type fella so have no experience with this type of figure in custom terms. The face ain't bad at all and only needs a little paint job on the hair and a little 'putty' nose like he had in the show. He will be a touch shorter than my West figures but that ain't bad at all for the character anyhow. Any tips are welcome! Thank you.

Mart, perhaps you can post a pic of the figure in question?

Here is the little guy so far. I actually took a chance and put him in a glass of boiling water and he 'popped' apart easy. I then attached his upper torso to a set of Classic TV 'Monster' legs to add a bit more height and make him look more 'Mego' like and in scale with Batman. The upper body is well articulated and once dressed the slight disproportion won't be too noticeable I hope. Now I just need to get his 'schnozz' done and paint the hair. The hat there is an old Mego Penguin hat I trimmed off an old head I had. It gives an idea of how it will look but I think I may try a Willy Wonka hat as it seems a little smaller. The face is really quite like Burgess so I probably won't find anything better (Unless someone starts to enlarge the old Aurora Penguin kit head) so a new TV villain may be joining The Joker and Riddler soon at my place.

Sorry i wasn't around sooner to help you with this Mart but you've got it well and truly under control it seems. I hadn't seen this figure before but he's going to work out really well for a Penguin, very good sourcing there and i think the scale will fit in more than ok.With that smirk i could easily see a Cigarette Holder hanging out the corner of his Mouth too. Nice find Mate, looking forward to the final product!

Hey that is a great scale comparison Marty, Once outfitted and detailed, you will have a definitive Pengy to add to your collection. As FB says, a cigarette holder will be fitting and dont forget the monecule (or whatever its called) Eye glass thingy. ;D

Thanks guys! The monocle, cigarrete holder and umbrella will all be there. It looks a little short but that ain't a bad thing for the character. Once dressed I'm sure things will look better again. I will keep you guys up on suff. Thanks for the support and comments.
