OK you 6 to 7 inch masters! I badly need your help.
I hope to cobble together my own Batman Beyond Old man Bruce Wayne for my growing 6 inch Batman collection. I really like that version of BW and consider it a sort of logical end of the line for his character, so starting from my DCD Origins Batman to him, I can then fill in the blanks with the artist's versions as I go. I have about 10 or so nice ones so far. (Desiring future Batman figures like a Sprang set and other artists not yet produced, etc, etc...)
I sadly did not collect too many of the animated figures (and it's not like they are all over the place, readily accessible anymore) and have very few for fodder for such a figure, so I need to know a reasonable recipe for this figure. A recipe that will of course require me to search Ebay and buy the needed base figure or figures for this one.
If any of you have any ideas regarding this, that you are willing to share that is, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. L

Hmm,an old Bruce Wayne ala Batman Beyond in Comic-Style sounds like a great idea Les.Well first of all you'll need a suited figure for the body, offhand there's a couple of Wesley figures from the Angel Line that may fit your needs body-wise. The Head i'll have to give some thought to,it's frustrating here as far as what's really out there. We maybe see 50-60% of all Figure releases on the Shelves in this Country. If i had a broader idea of what's out there i'm sure it would be easier to solve your problem and many of my own.As it is i have to spend a lot of time researching bases for every single fig i do,it can be frustrating. But i digress sorry,i'll give it some more thought for you.

Thanks! I can sculpt too, so I may have to account for some of that detail that way too. But thanks. Anything will help.

Thanks! I can sculpt too, so I may have to account for some of that detail that way too. I figure you would anyways but i always try to get as close to the intended Character's head shape as possible when i look at potential fodder. Come on Cas and Bruce, help me out here.

Hey FB, they may not want to share that one. I mean, what if everyone could make this figure? Then...everyone would have one....and....it would be cool....
;D
One can hope. C'mon guys. There has to be a way... I am gonna get one made somehow... He and a couple of others and I am done with this set. Must make figure...must...complete set... must...

hmmmm... well thats a toughie since he will inevitably be a unique design. But then that could also be to your benefit? I think there are plenty of potentially worthy base figures for this... just need something/someone not too exagerated (either muscular or trim etc. ya know? more inbetween) but many options regarding a body, perhap the Unmasked superman? As for a head... since he's going to look dif/original no matter what, than sky could be the limit? But my first choice would be to alter an actual Mattel comic line Bruce Wayne head (best for offering more "authenticity" or obvious characteristics?) Maybe an Xmen (movie?) magneto? or even Prof X? for cost and availability I would look at the numerous such marvel stuff out now. Ml and so forth. Personally, (and this may not work for an old bruce) but the newest genaric X-Men figs Magneto would/could make an awesome bruce/bat-jaw IMO

Okay, my first thoughts are, how do you want to go about this? Will he be slightly hunched, like the animated deisgn? Fit and trim, fat, frail? The old Bruce in Kingdom Come was pretty fit, despite needing the exoskeleton. What does YOUR vision say to you, Les? Maybe if we narrow down where you want to go, we can figure something out. Off the top of my head, for a more "generic" pose with a jacket, there's the bad guy from the first series of Charmed figures. Ohh! I have the goat-man from the Saturday Night live series. He has a suit on, and is slightly hunched. Here's a pic I found on eBay: I'd be willing to send one your way if you think it's the right direction to go. C.

Whoa! Hell yeah! Now, understand, I want to make him resemble the Batman Beyond one as much as possible.
Cason, et al, I do not do your beautiful sculpted Timm forms well, just not my cup of tea. And yes, if I could do THAT one, I would. I could just put him right there with my "Batboy" figure and be done with it. I would be ok with that. And yes, I want an Ace too.
But...it would be ok to fashion him as a "real" guy too. I might really like that. Sort of take him to the DCD style and make him a nice figure in my set, even more appropo that way really. More a LES figure than otherwise I guess, so, yes, I may really like your Goat-Boy body approach. That would work great.
Here is my criteria that I should have spelled out before, I just hadn't thought it through...
1- OLD Bruce Wayne. Old. Not bald old, but Old. Pissed off codger Bruce. A cane is a must. Figure must have some stoop to him. and wide shoulders, or at least, adaptably wide. I can add to I am sure.
2- A head that I can make as much like Old Bruce in BB as is possible, realistic or otherwise. I can't see very well at this scale, so it would help if it was already very Timm like in countenence. I can do what I can with that. It will be a challenge for me.
3- a Dog for Ace. That one's a toughie. I have seen no dogs in that scale, but I don't buy that scale much so I may just be ignorant.
4. A cane. But I can make that I think.
So, there you go.
I guess I need to say, that Old Bruce Wayne is actually my all-time favorite cartoon character. Ever. He is why I bought the Batman Begins DVD set. That is why this matters to me so much. Why is this? I have no clue. He just is my fave. It's like Old Bones in Star Trek the Next Generation. I have that old figure too. Old guys rule to me. The more crotchety and boisterous the better. And none is better than Old Bruce Wayne. He was only BATMAN, so he rules. Totally. No old dude is better. It made Dark Knight great. Made Kingdom Come great. etc. etc.
Old Bruce Wayne. Speaks for himself.
Hope this helps. And thanks. I have so much thinking to do to get my mind around this one as a figure though. I hate pleading ingnorance in this scale realm, but so be it. Thanks for the help guys. You got me all excited here. I want a cool figure.

Man I'd have great ideas for this in 12" scale but 6 inch is tricky. I guess I'd start with one of the Ross figures either KC or Justice and go from there. Probably the KC Green Lantern head. There already is agreat Ace in 6" scale. Came with the DCD 2 pack batwoman set. I think you could modify it.

Les, If you think Goat-boy is worth a shot, I'll send him your way. And if you get him in hand and he doesn't work, no big deal. The KC Green Lantern Scot mentions is so close, but of course he's got a mask on. Maybe one of the other KC heads? Like Supes? (I'm loking at Andy here.) I'll scope out my wall o' 6" figures tonight. Maybe something will strike me. D'oh! Here's another possibility, especially the head: Bossman! www.happyworker.com/bossman/ I have one of these. Still waiting for just the right use for him. I'd rather hang on to him, but I can probably cast his head. You'll notice he has three. (Just like a real boss... Not naming any names or anything.) C.

See i knew there'd be better Suited Bodies out there that i don't know about.Man that's frustrating! The Goatboy does look like a great physique for Old Bruce, good spotting there Cas.The KC GL is a good suggestion by Scot for an older Head but i think it's too broad a Head for Old Bruce. If you're going to go through the pain of removing a Mask from a Face[been there, done that-Sucks! ;D]then i would suggest the older-released DCD Hal Jordan Head.I know it's a younger Head but it's got that same elongated Face and strong Jaw and Chin that Old Bruce has and would suit better methinks.Rework the Hair, remove the Mask and age and i reckon he would be ideal. I have a spare if you need it Les.

About Ace- Scot is referring to the DCD Ace that came with Batwoman and Batgirl I believe but that's the German Shepherd old school Ace who was in costume. There is a great little six-inch scale doberman figure that came with a Lara Croft figure that would probably suit your needs here with just some paint. If you search eBay for Tomb Raider figures with a doberman you can probably find one cheap! Just a suggestion!

Noting down info, noting...man...you guys...noting...
OK, I LOVE the KC Green Lantern look, but that mask...at that scale...eyesight going...can't see...must - get - new- glasses.... I can't hope to carve away at that scale and maintain what I need for such an important figure to me. But, that is a great face Scot. You have me VERY curious about a 12"...it just won't go with my collection very well. Still curious though.
Cason, let's GO with Goatboy body. He looks too good. Way too good for this guy. Wide shoulders too. Let me know what you need from me. PM me for that.
What's the scoop on the Hal Jordan head there FB? Curious. Mask you say? See above comment. Too scared to carve away masks at this scale.
I'll find that Tomb Raider dog then Kev. Although, I am curious about the one Scot mentioned. But, I will look. Thanks.
Thanks guys. It is coming together here.
Excited...nervous...[glow=red,2,300]CAN IT BE DONE? [/glow]

Sorry the direct link to the Ace photo got trounced. Here's a new link. www.titanstower.com/assets/recroom/toys/direct/batwoman.jpgHaving not ever dug the Batboy series I really don't remember what the Ace looked like. It figures they'd change that too. So what did the Ace look like there? Anyway - since Les is doing his own thing with it - maybe the older style Ace would be appropriate afterall. There are tons of dogs out there in many styles. I saw a bunch that would work at our hobby shop just 2 days ago. -S On the face - YES reculpting the mask away would be a challenge - too bad because I always loved that sculpt. How about a Superman head? The KC one isn't quite as old but it is craggy. www.dccomics.com/news/images/kingdc/kc_superman.jpg

I agree about the sculpt Scot. That is a Terrific one. I don't even have that Kingdom Come Superman figure! If I did, I sure wouldn't maul it for this. Not without an extra. I really want to capture something of the look of Old Bruce in BB. So, no matter which head I get, he's gonna be molded to that look somewhat. That jaw, brow, hair, etc. But yes, that one you mention is a super sculpt. In fact, I wish there was an old Bruce from KC with the body brace etc. Non batsuit one. That would be great! Who was doing that KC set in full again? There's one for ya! Anyway, thanks guys. So far, so good. At least I am thinking. And scoping Ebay with better ideas. This is hard finding the right guys for this...
