I was checking Eternal Collector today and came across this article: www.eternalcollector.com/classicbatman.htmlI'm assuming that can't be a legitimately licensed product. No way WB would work with such small numbers. By the way, all y'all's customs leave these in the dust. C.

Hmm. wow. not bad but yeah, very unlikely a legit item and yes indeedy do I agree the VAST majority of such figures shown here are far superior... and dare I say even more "authenticate"?

Concur. This looks ok. Colors on Bats are great. Head's weird. Colors on Robin are too bright. All in all, this gang's got 'em licked!

We talked and showed these on here months ago when they were first shown. The prototypes were a bit different and they have shown about three running changes as they've been taking preorders for them. I ordered 2 sets of these back in October or November. The site (art of toys) updates their progress regularly. This is another case of the prototypes being a bit better than the final result.
Their price was so good, however ($268 for the pair) that I ordered these primarily to use for parts.
Obviously the likenesses are not that great. But the Robin vest is the best I've seen. I am sure I will find other bits to use as well.

Heres a qote from the writer of this article. "I immediately thought about the latest movie “Batman Returns”" Either this article is very old or the writer has his "RETURNS" mixed up with his " BEGINS". Nice looking set all around, ive seen better but also worse as well. I too like the costuming, especially Robin's, great work there. Will

Sorry, Scooter. I didn't mean to repeat anything. I'm not up on the 12" or West stuff.
No harm, no foul?

No apology nessa, Cas - didn't mean to come off humphy. It didn't get a lot of commentary back then, I think it fell through the cracks. I only even mentioned it to show the progression of the prototype photos. But I haven't gone back to look for the older post yet.

Hey, I note the pics are gone from this article on EC... Any clues gang? Maybe it's not legit?

They're legit. I've got 2 sets on order and I have known the guy for a long while and he's had other stuff up for many years on "art of toy" in Japan. he probably got tired of so many people on other boards slamming what he keeps telling people are early mock-ups. I am not saying the faces will be much better - I'm just saying everyone has lambasted him for them when he keeps saying - "these are being improved" so maybe he asked to have them come down.
This batch of stuff is very late. he's not usually this late. they were due in January and are now supposedly going out next week.
They are still on ebay pretty much every week. Last time I saw them up there were a couple newer shots that looked like things had been upgraded a bit.
