I've spoken about this to Cas before and i'd like to throw it out to all of you.I never seem to be able to get the type of detail photos i really am after. I've messed around with light sources, positioning and edited the crap out of some pics but i'm still not happy with any end result. So what i's like to know is how do you set up Photography of your figs? What's your methods for that primo shot?

Get as many angles as possible FB. I'm not sure about the Primo shot though, but if ya hit the Figure in question at different posses, I'm sure you will find what ya need.

It's not the angles i'm worried about Jase, though thanks for the feedback.I usually take several shots of everything at different angles and pick my faves. It's more about the lighting options, camera types etc.Maybe even editing tricks

I know FB has seen this already, but thought others might find it interesting: That's my basic setup. Works about 95% of the time. C.

Cas' method is pretty tried and true, key light plus wash light. Moving them around and placing gels on them will increase the drama some more.
The biggest thing that I find helps (and I'm often too lazy or busy for this) is to use my tripod and get absolutely still, solid shots while opening up the aperture a little longer.
I'm trying to clear a dedicated lighting stage that will more easily facilitate tripod-assisted shots. -S

I second that Scooter. The tripod is a must. Though I'm guilty of being lazy, too. I tend to only bring it out if I'm taking a ton of shots.

I always use a Tripod otherwise i never get it right.they always end up blurry otherwise. Part of my problem i think is i do only have a cheaper Digital Camera that you can only do so much with.Basic Zoom and settings and the like. Also what do you guys edit your pics in?Just a simple program like Camedia or something or do you run everything through Photoshop with more options.I'm just obsessed with getting photos right for the future, they really can make or break how others view your work i reckon.

I'm a Photoshop guy, through and through. Won't touch anything else.
