I'm needing to make a Purple cape for a quirky Mego-style Batman project and thought I'd show you my first attempt. I made this by cutting lengths of wire and ironing it between two pieces of plastic tablecloth that I cut to size and then trimmed. The plastic fuses pretty well and helps define the ridges of the batwing-like cape. It can then be "posed". Pictures below are being modeled by a regular Mego Batman. I still have some bugs to work out. Anybody tried something like this with success? I'm hoping for some suggestions for improvement...

I reckon you are well on the way to nailing this project Kevin. I can't wait to see how it all works out. Nice idea!

Thanks! I haven't experimented with clear vinyl. Forgive my ignorance, but is that something from a craft store or hardware store? What would be the advantage? Would it then be painted? Could you elaborate? I plan on re-making this cape again because I overlooked the front of the cape that has to connect to the cowl.

What a cool concept, I never would have thought you could iron 2 pieces of plastic together with wire in between. This opens up the doors for not only capes, but Wings & hoods as well. Excellent tip brotha.
