I was wondering if any of you folks have ever used Rit Dye as a means of dyeing a figures hands? I have heard a vague description of it being done but haven't been brave enough to try it myself as of yet.

Hmmm, I've never heard of this, sounds doable thou. I painted a few hands before but no matter how good I clear them, it just rubs off anyway. This would be a great tip if anyone wants to dive in and try it. Will

I am a complete novice at customs but I have tried to paint hands too. They didn't turn out well at all and as soon as they were touched they were ruined.
I heard this RIT tip from a clever guy over lunch one day and have yet to give it a go.If any of you talented guys give it a spin and have any luck with it I'd love to hear full details.

I hope someone can expound upon this. I've got a pair of white hands I have to paint flesh-tone and I thought it was going to be the easy part. Sounds like I'm in for a big problem.

Never heard of this. I bet it takes some serious experimentation. I know it dyes my hands! ;D

This would be a great tip if anyone wants to dive in and try it. Will Gotta seal it bro. I just paint with Folk Art paint. Then I seal it with Clear Acrylic Sealer made by plaid, it's a spry on. I then dry it in a light heat lamp. Don't really have much problems with it comming off anymore. Still new at this, only been doing it for a little under 2 yrs. There's probably a better way, however this one works out fine for me.

I have looked at dying plastic before...it is tough....Dye can do it a little....but it is more of a tint...and has to be concentrated.....but as I was writing this I thought of something.... PAAS Easter Egg coloring.....I think it mixes with Vinegar....been a while since I made easter eggs....but hot on hot plastic may get a darker tint.... I may have to try it out..... Or I could be pulling the whole thing out of my arse....
