There are many ways of adding realism to a custom figure and adding hair is just one way to get your figure that much closer to the real thing. The method for adding hair which I use is simply adding cut sections of hair by glueing the sections right onto the scalp. For this project I chose to use 100% real Human hair. ( hope the Wife don't notice the bald spot on the back of her head) # 1- I draw the Hairline as it appears on my subject. # 2- Beginning at the very front edge I lay down the bangs across the front and then begin adding layers working back towards the Crown of the head, allowing each new layer to fall forward onto the existing hair. # 3- Once I reach the Crown I then move to the bottom of the back and begin adding layers across from side to side, this time working Up towards the Crown area # 4- I then add hair into scarce spots and fill it in so it's nice and thick. After allowing the glue to dry for a day, I spray the Wild "Hair-doo" down with water and brush out any loose hair then Blow-dry it so it's nice & fluffy. # 5- Next, useing a Beard Trimmer I begin to shape the hair to the desired look. In this case Sid gets his infamous Spiky Punk style. A little fritz of water sprayed on gives it a spiky gelled look. That's my take on applying hair. Will

Wow, Will - I have to say - I've seen a ton of "real hair" project dolls, and this one is hands down the best i've seen! I usually hate hair on dolls. I am a sculpted hair-only guy. But this one - MAN - that looks great. I am amazed that you did it BEFORE the paintjob though. -S

"I am amazed that you did it BEFORE the paintjob though." Thanks for the comments Scot, i am happy with how it came out. I've had lots of practice in doing hair this way, ( you will see what I mean in the "Custom Models" board soon. ) I will paint the head by hand and I'm not worried about the hair, it will be darkened as well when the paintwork is done.
