I just found a whole cache of these new Superman Returns Ken dolls up for sale on Ebay, so...I got one. search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=ken+supermanWhen I get it in hand, I will probably change him out to a better body and be done with it for that movie collection. I'll post my findings when I do. After looking at the various figures due out of this, I actually like the Ken doll head and costume a tad better than all the DCD stuff coming out for this movie, as the bodies are too big on all the other dolls, and the details seem ok for actual 1/6 scale, and not that other HUGE thing DC is selling. Just thought I'd mention this. These may be out in stores now. Be nice to know more...

Good Lord! His chest! He otherwise looks too similar to the Ken to warrant that much expense. Still looks like a male model...WAIT! He IS a male model! Or was... No wonder Ken looks about right! Just not enough grounds for the higher cash layout. I can make that cape or whatever for my Ken, so why bother. But, thanks for the post! I gotta assume that there will be an overglut of this guy as a toy come summer. Like all these dull Fantastic Four movie figures that overstock my Wal-Mart....

I got my KEN Superman! OK. It's not that bad. ;D I mean, since the new Superman already looks like Ken, he should work, right? So, here are some pics of the new $20 toy... First, scale. He is tall. About 13" total. Taller than my Reeve Superman which is taller than most of my 12" figures. Then there is the details... He looks pretty much like they put a muscle suit on Ken, then the costume...it's actually a tad darker than this because of my flash, but, it is not as dark as the movie costume's blue is. Then I notice, no emblem on the back of his cape. New design element for this version? Left off the Ken? I wonder if it matters... The boots are movie accurate, but too small. Almost Mego scale. Not really, but they are a tad small I think. Maybe that's the design too... Or, Ken's legs are too long. I am definately trading this out to a new body soon. Face: Reworked Ken. Not much resmeblance. I may repaint it for fun, but I think it has to have a slightly smaller head anyway. So, what's my review? About 7 out of 10 when thinking in a Barbie/Ken world parameter. What do I really think? About a 3 out of 10, as it is. That means the movie costume is just not cool to me. But, it is a nicely done Ken figure. Good enough from all the stuff I have seen coming out. Just add a better body and cape, and a decent head, and there ya go. Instant cheap Superman Returns figure. Hope that answers any curiousities about this particular figure. If anyone had any that is... I want to be excited about this movie!!! But...I can't!!! I hope i am wrong!!!! I hope it's good anyway...

Thanks for the report mate. For good or bad it will be cool to see a whole slew of new Superman figures and toys out there. This seems to be the first so top marks for nailing it. I heard that the 'S' doesn't appear on the cape this time anyhow due to the problems the CGI people would have when animating the cape as much as they do for this movie. I too wanna be excited but am having trouble. Maybe once I see the posters around and a trailer or two at the cinema it may be different. Always better to make a decisison once you've seen the movie. Looking forward to hearing the various thoughts from all the fellas here on the toys and the movie come Summer time. Thanks again Les.
