Yes, sprinkle some powder in the mold, but make sure to knock out the excess before pouring.

Just wanted to mention that I followed Steven's guide here to the letter and as a result I'm happy to announce that I produced the best mold I've ever made. Great tutorial which deserves to be a sticky thread. Will

Hey, guys -
I think I screwed up. I'm making a silicon 2 piece mold for a custom HS. I forgot to apply any mold release or jelly between the first and second mold pieces.
Am I screwed or is there still a way to separate the two pieces once the second piece cures?
Thanks. Tin

lol. I came up with my own solution out of desperation. The second piece of the mold cured and the two were pretty much welded together.
So what I did was to carefully slice away layers from the bottom (I had a 50/50 chance of correctly choosing the bottom) until I reached the bottom neck of the master HS. Then because the mold is silicon based - I was able to stretch it and remove the master without any damage to it.
Now I have one-piece mold instead of a 2-piece. hehe

Latex takes forever to build up and will eventually dry rot. I’ve never had a latex mold ever work well.
