Thanks. The head is a Diceman head that was shrunk down for Mego scale. The original is much larger. Russ sells them. Check in the member's section under "customslab" and his website should be there. I have custom adhesive vinyl sign shop emblems. I had them made a long while ago. Not quite the right scale for this figure, they are more scaled for 1:6 stuff. They are laser cut as well. The Robin is not quite for public viewing at the moment.

A sign shop has laser guided cutters that cut out the layers of adhesive vinyl to the exact shape specified. So the bat is cut from thin black vinyl and sits on top of the yellow oval vinyl which is cut out by the machine as well. So you don't have to cut anything by hand and it is opaque and pretty close to perfect.
I'm sure Will can describe it more accurately as he works for a sign shop.

A couple of great figures- love the Mego-ness of the Superman and the whole Batman package- one surprise after another! What I wouldn't have given as a kid to have these toys. Well, for that matter- as an adult!

I love this pic Scot. Very dramatic and almost as if seeing a still from the movie. Nice going. Great job on the batman, the cape, trunks, boots and gloves look awesome, and the head detailing is excellent!. I don't recall you mentioning where that belt came from, It is slightly out of scale but very nicely made. What more can you tell us about that Mego batmobile? is that the huge 27" one which you previously had the masters for? Supes looks great too. I'm not familiar with that era thou I think I recall it as an old cartoon version from way way back. Will

The SUPERMAN cinema cartoons are fantastic and available usually pretty cheap now even on DVD. I picked up the whole series of them for about $20. Not pirated either but a genuine release. Scot really captured the look of how the animators drew him. I like the later 1960s Filmation version too but this style is really beautiful and served, I believe, as something of an inspiration for those working on the Kevin Conroy BATMAN animated series. I know you probably have all seen it but here is the kinda classic shot opening each installment!

What is your recipe for the Batman Belt, & Cowl trim? The Batman belt is the same recipe I've been doing for 10 years. I am going to do a photo turtorial on it very soon. It is the easiest part of the whole ensemble to do. The Cowl bib is a resin cast piece that was for an Aurora model conversion. It can be adapted to work in this scale as well. I think you have all heard my paint recipe to make satin blue work already.

What more can you tell us about that Mego batmobile? is that the huge 27" one which you previously had the masters for? Will The belt is my old standard recipe, and yeah as mentioned above - I left some of the pieces a bit goofy and big to stay Mego-riffic. The car is indeed the 28" one that I used to have molds for. This is the original fiberglass one-piece master that all molds everywhere were made from. The plus is that it is the original so it is straight and true. The minus is that it is fiberglass and thus really hard to work with and paint.
