Wait - WHAT happened to Doc Mego? Apparently he got a Cease and Desist order from DC and Marvel. This smacks of someone dumping him in it if you want my opinion.

I suspect so too. There are some real fruitcakes in the Mego customizing world and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the work of one of them- betraying Doc Mego to the vultures to satisfy some infantile desire of their own. Sad and unfortunate as the good doctor has given this hobby life in many, many ways.

Not just an opinion and I've got a pretty good idea who did it too. But no problem a C&D is no big thing. I literally have a drawer full. Well - actually a drawer with 4 of them in it. From 1995. I haven't gotten one since. (knock wood)

Well if i read the Docs post over at MC correctly it seems he's pretty much pulling the pin on the whole thing. If it was someone in opposition to him then they're going to clean up if Doc's parts won't be available anymore.

This is terrible news! I don't make or collect Megos, and I've only ever ordered from him once, but I recognize that his efforts were singular in keeping Mego interest alive. I can only image how tough future Mego projects will be without him. I am disgruntled by proxy. C.

I believe the future of cusoms will stand the test of time. For me, customs represent better and more detailed renditions of the characters which you collect, in my case Batman, and if future batman collectors stumble across past customs which were done nicely, I'm certaing the interest & desireability will reamin strong.
