I'm hoping someone here can help me out on this search. I am planning to do a series of Mego figures based on the human aliens that appeared in the various Godzilla movies. I hope to have them completed by next Summer to submit them for showing at the 2006 Godzilla Convention. The problem is that I really need a female Japanese head for one of them in the 8" scale. Anybody got any leads on where to find one? Or clever solutions on how to adapt one?

How did I miss your Godzilla stuff before??!! Absolutely fantastic! How big are those- are they all to scale with one another? Would be great to see a shot with alll of them- 2000's gotta be the biggest! I think you nailed the colors on the '54 by the way! That is the nicest MechaG I've ever seen. I'd love to see you do the original and the Tokyo SOS version as well. It's nice to know there's another Kaiju fan on the boards here. Have you seen Final Wars yet? It is awesome !!! Thet had it at this Summer's G-Con which I and my son attended. The dude that did the special effects was at the screening (with his translator) and there was a whole room of original production art from movies going as far back as the 60's.

Here's an Idea for ya, & if it works let me know... if ya try it that is. Now, I had the same question, cuz I need a Psylocke & a Katana pair, So, this is what I heard. If ya take that Disney 12" mulan doll, shrink the head useing actone, supposivly it don't affect the hair, but it will shrink the head. Keep in mind, I have never tried this, its just what I heard would work. Any Barbie Asian figure would also work. Thats all I got.

Interesting. I was checking out that Mulan head and noticed it was too big. How the heck do you shrink it in acetone?

you soak it in a bath,... I think. not sure what to what rachio you supposed to use. There is a link that Caz posted under the Acetone thread, I have looked into this, however didn't get very far. I don't know if it tells ya the how to's?

I checked out that post. "Reducit". Not sure if that would work or not. Sounds pretty involved.

Yeah, the Reducit stuff is a multi-step process. That's what's always scared me off. Plus it sounds like it involves a lot of guess-work. That could lead to trouble.

Thanks for the Godzilla comments.
I am scoping for the head for you. I think you can find a head somewhere rather than go through all that acetone stuff. Sounds scary to me. Maybe it will work.. but, is there maybe a McDonald's type toy of say, Mulan or some other small scale that could be used. Styrene figure? Anything other than the norm? I think it is solvable. You may just have to find one figure type head and repaint it creatively. Lookin'...
PS: Saw Final Wars. Yes, I liked it. You (Kevin) are so lucky to be up there where you can go to G-Cons. I almost went in 1999. The biggest of my kits is that 89. It's 20" tall and over 40" long. The 2000 is big though. Just looks bigger in the photo I guess. The 93 set are both over 12" tall. That Mech is big! Maybe if I make a Batman cowled Godzilla, Will would let me start a G thread in the General area... ;D LOL! But that's a whole 'nother world of stuff...too big for this site! Better not...

Les- I am trying to think untraditionally about this too. Most of the aliens wear visors or have ape-heads etc, but the Kilaaks only have female Japanese heads so that's the one I'm stuck on. I count myself pretty lucky to be in the G-Con area myself! Maybe someday we can meet up at one! I guess all we'd really have to do is show Big G stepping on Batmobiles all the time and we could squeak by Will's bat-radar!

What do you think of this? Maybe if I repainted Lily Munster here it would work. I hate the idea of trying to get all of that hair off cleanly, but if I get the hood right it won't show any mess.
