I was inspired by Glorbes Gotham by Gaslight Batman and decided to do a 12”. I was going to wait until it was done but I’ve spent too much time on it and my work is backing up on me, the hazards of self employment. I modified a cast of my Ross style head, it's not a new sculpt.

Now this fella I'm loving already!! Brilliant stuff. The mask is exactly as I would have envisioned it. Leather with pretty rough stitching holding it all tightly together. The flesh tones and eyes are stunning as well. The equipment belt looks great and this is a figure I am holding my breath to see. Thanks for sharing an in progress set of shots. Beautiful!!

What a beauty! This is gonna be a heck of a figure when it's finished. This character really seems to thrive on texture and detail and you are already making great use of those qualities- exciting to think about what's yet to come! PS- I urge anyone who hasn't already to check out Steven's Portfolio he has listed- some fantastic art work to be found there- be prepared to spend some time looking over it all, quite impressive!

A great start! I dig the "stitching" on the cowl, and the texture of the fabric. Good choices!

Oh man! I dont think I can handle seeing the rest of this figure complete. That head alteration is excellent! and the leather mask with the old & beaten look to it is just incredible!. I love the design and craftmanship of the belt, but it would be more visually appealing (to me personally) if it was done in the same finish as the cowl. Suit looks fab as well. I cant wait to see the cloak style cape. Just curious Steven, what's happening with this GBG fig once completed? Will

The like everyone else has said, the minute detailing on the stitching is amazing! I really enjoy the paint job that makes the wrinkles in his face stand out. Superb job so far!

Thanks,
But, special thanks must go out to trusty old mom for the cape/cloak. I had sewn one but the points just didn’t come out well and looked uneven, I took it over to mom and she had the idea of using a fine fusible webbing to join the fabric and it could be cut without sewing.
By the way, does anyone else wife make fun of them? Mine keeps asking if I’m sewing more clothes for my doll babies.

Do you need any pointers on sewing? Maybe I should do a sewing tutorial? I learned to sew at a really young age and alter most of my own clothes. I could contribute something like that better than I could painting techniques.
