This post is especially for Jason! I rarely work in the true Mego 8" style. But lately seeing Jason's great efforts in that world and feverishly customizing things for upcoming holiday onslaught sales - I ressurected an old project. I had purchased a couple of these vaguely Bell 47-ish Helicopters from Cotswold's about 7 years ago hoping they'd be a good 1:6 scale Batcopter base. Well, as you can see - they are not very detailed, much more toylike than 1:6 scale figures deserve and much too small for a full 12" figure. There's not even room for Mego sized Robin to join him! So I shelved it for a long while. Then I thought - wait, the Mego guys might like a better, more accurate Batcopter that still fits the 70's Mego-style and this would be perfect for that project. And of all the vintage Mego vehicles, the Batcopter was the wackiest looking flying yellow slipper thing that never made sense. So here is a first look at my revised Mego Batcopter (for sale) I still have to add a few support struts for the wings and some interior details, but not too many - I want to keep this Mego-riffic.

That is just the best fella! It looks pretty close and authentic to the one in the movie but still has a Mego toy kinda look, don't be insulted as I mean that as a compliment!! A bang on job mate. Thanks for sharing. Fantastic. Can I spread the word to a Mego site I use. I can mention that it is gonna be on eBay soon if you like.

Marty - Thanks, no offense at all - that's exactly what I wanted it to be. Feel free to share wherever. I already posted it on the MM customs section though. Not sure if that's where you mean but - spreading the word is always good!

That is really nifty- a bit too nice for Mego really, even simplified, but I'm sure you will have a cative audience when you list it.

oh man! I opened this thread and only scrolled down enough to read the description and simmer with anticipation of what images may lay below. I was certain that I would like whatever pictures scrolled up but this custom chopper blew me away. I think it's fantastic! and easily the best Batcpter toy ever!. Even with room for just Batman, it looks like it should be that way. Kinda like taking the large Corgi copter concept to Mego. Be sure to post the ebay auction Scot. thats a winner dude. Will

That's cool Scoot! I like it!
I may not be a "Mego guy" like many here seem to be, and I know that's not exactly your forte, but that being said, [glow=red,2,300]great job![/glow]
Really does have a nostalgic look and feel to it. Looks very authentic somehow. Your knowledge of so many areas, toy styles, the shows etc. really comes though here. Great piece and a super addition to any Mego-phile's collection!
