Here's me with my new friend Simon. Simon is a wild chipmunk and i am a wild Willy so we get along fine. Dude. I don't mean to get all Disney on you here - but that's the coolest thing ever. I have squirrels, turkeys, deer and yes - chipmunks in my backyard and I have never had one of anything come that close to me. Let alone stay for hand-fed treats. What's your secret? Just plain well-liked by the animal kingdom? -S |

I guess it's just persistance. He was hanging out in the woodpile and i started placing tretas on a certain board for him. Then while he was eating I would begin whistling and talking to him so he gets used to the noises i make.  Eventually he recognised me and my whistling as a sign of treats and looks for me all the time now. ;D There are a family of deer in my backyard almost every evening but they will take n=much more work til they get friendly. Jason, he loves good canadian Beer & bacon but like me, he aint into Hocky. ;D Will |
