You have certainly nailed the outfit- the sequins you chose are in fact the right shape and size to emulate the Red Sonja "armor" (I use the term armor here as loosely as her outfit). You are making good use of the "enhanced" torsos you have, selecting characters for whom they are most appropriate. Don't know what your future plans are- but I wouls suggest you find some way to paint the figure because the non-matching skin tones is a bit distracting as-is. Looking forward to the future on this project!

Hey thanks guy's! Ya I don't think she can sink with the built in floatation devises she has. ;D & I'm working on the skin ton, however in the pick because of the flash, it really is not as light as it appears in person. Case in point, look at the neck piece. The color is alittle off though. Any suggesstions on accruate skin tone paint with 70's mego bodies would deepliy appreceated. Thanks.-

Not only are the seqiuins a cool idea - but it looks JUST like how she used to appear back in the heyday. (see pic) Excellent job. I use ceramcoat medium fleshtone to match old mego caucasian color. I mix in a bit of umber. I use an airbrush for that usually.

Thanks for the tip Scooter, I'm off to try & fine that paint! I don't have an airbrush though, but I will try with what I have. I researched abit for likeness before I begain this project, & depending on which artist's work you look at, depends on costume variations with her. It appears that no one draws Her the same. In the pic Scooter posted, I see about 3 things that I have not scene before, or are different from my referance comics. Most noticable are the shoulder pads. I 'm trying to combine a bunch of stuff I've scene together, for how I guess I see her. Thanks for the support Guys, & the tips!

Hi Jason. Just a followup comment regarding your nice, busty figure. I am working on a similar, if more Celtic looking figure, but I like your sequin solution. Sounds like a Sherlock Holmes story, the Case of the Sequin Solution". If he could see your's! ;D
Anyway, Very nice. Are you going to use leather? Fur? Anything like that? Just wondering. I found this great material with a metal weave that looks alot like chain mail. If you need any of that or some great furs or anything, let me know. I have plenty. All in all, wonderful figure. Keep 'er goin'!

Now there's an Idea Less, fur... mmmm. I likey! I probably will use fur for her cape, so she can keep warm. She is comming along nicely though, I sould be done with her soon. I was unable to make the paint on the chest an excact match. The body I used looks a little sun weathered. Whats werid to me, is that fact that I didn't even know what sequins were untill Will called them that. I just found something that I thought would work, stumbulled acrossed them really nothing more.

Ooh YA, & Her gloves & knife belt, along with some stuff on her boots will be leather. I wanted to add some Doc Mego accessories to give her that mego feel. Like boots, & scarab with Sword, & a Knife. I changed out one of the hands with a Breyergirl hand so she can hold a sword.

Jason- Very exiting to read about the progress on this one. I wouldn't worry too much about the color as long as there's some consistency- I think Sonja could easily be portrayed with a bit of sun exposure as most Barbarian characters are usually depicted that way . I think you are showing a great instinct in following your own esthetic choices. Since she has many ways of being depicted, the best solution is to do as you appear to be doing- create a composite of the elements you like best. You sir, are growing by leaps and bounds in this craft!
