HEY ANOTHER MAJOR MATT FAN!!!! Hi ya!
I have these fellas too. Love 'em to bits and did as a kid. The Twinch Squad figures are just gorgeous and the Madelman figure too. Check out YOU TUBE by the way. Original early 1970s Madelman TV ads which include stop motion 2001 Clavius astronaut stuff. Are those custom Lockwood and Dullea heads??? If so can we see some close ups. They look lovely!! Love it to pieces!!!!! As much as the MMM suits and the 2001 look kinda similar in colour I think it is probably just a coincidence. Matt first appeared in 1967 and Sgt Storm early 1968 with Kubrick's movie not being released until April and May 1968 throughout the most part of the World. Coloured space suits go back as far as movies like DESTINATION MOON so I reckon it was just a technique used to differentiate between characters in the movies and this toy line too. The Hammer Sci-Fi movie MOON ZERO TWO which is a big favourite of mine also uses this technique and the suits are even more like MMM as they have the 'bellows' at the knees, shoulders and elbows. Do you know that movie at all? Whatever just my thoughts on the subject but they look bloody fantastic and you have a stunning collection. I love the Jeff Long with the customised helmet too. Nice job! Zeroids too and Billy Blast-Off!! Amazing.

Hey Marty
Matt Mason and Space stuff in general was a huge thing for me as a Kid glad you like .. Those twinch suits are really awsome the detail in them is unreal all fasteners unscrew and helemts come off etc the heads are Dragon heads that i felt most resembled the actors they work in the helmets though Cheers mate

I'm a big Matt Mason fan as well. Had them all as a kid. Had the Billy Blastoff stuff too. But did either of you have the Sea Devils? That's the big question.
Maybe we should have a new thread about our non-batman collections!

We never had the SEA DEVILS here just MMM and his buddys. However during the early 1970s when Mattel were getting rid of Major Matt and Co in slim generic 'Astronaut' boxes we got the basic loose skin diver in the orange rubber suit. Fantastic to hear other fellas here are into the good Major. Top bloody stuff. The old TV ads are the coolest too. I guess you guys know them. LOVE IT!!!!!

[glow=red,2,300]MAJOR MATT MASON! SEA DEVILS![/glow] I never had but a few of these as a kid!
Hey! Where's that ugly grey/silver Moon walker spider walker machine thing the Major rode in? I had one and tried for ages to tear it up when I was a kid. It was INDESTRUCTIBLE! Wish I had one now. Great set Pete! Lots of memories here!
