I collect many different types of Bat-man toys but my altime favorites are my classic Corgis. They debut in 1966 following the success of the Bat-man TV show. They were produced in different varieties for aproximately 10 years. Here is a pic of my Corgi collection, currently they are spread out among my displays but I gathered them all up for a group shot. Which Bat-man toys are your favorites? Will

I have a reasonable sized collection which cover all aspects of Batman merchandise. I guess if I were to pick out a couple it would be my Mego Batman with silky shorts, a Warner Bros store Michael Keaton style mask and the 1966 GAF Viewmaster reels. A hard choice as I too love the Corgi toys. I have a 1960s Corgi catalogue and can send a scan of the Batman page if you like to share.

I don't have a lot of Batman stuff but I guess my favorite Bat-item right now is the new Batman dress up set.I love the packaging almost as much as the outfit itself.
I love the 1960's style Corgi Batmobile too.

Yeah Mart! Doesn't he look almost real. The new Batmobile is cool looking too.I'm very excited about the new Batman movie too.I know most Batman fans hate the new stuff but I loved the first two Burton films and hope the new one will be as good as they were.

Looking at that Corgi Catalog page, I always assumed that those were photos of the actual toys, but when I noticed the Trailer hitch on the batmobile was different , I took a closer look and can see that all the toys are just very well done renderings.
Great scan Martyman! ;D

I don't know if I could pick a favorite. The Corgi stuff is probably the coolest though. I have never seen the Penguin car before! What a great collection. I'm pretty fond of the Batman Talking Alarm Clock and the Aladdin Lunch box & Thermos I have. The new Corgi Batmobiles line has me pretty excited too. I do hope they will add the 50's car to the series in time. I'm not too thrilled with the new Batmobile though, maybe I'll like it better when I see it in action. I just recently started to realize that a lot of fans don't like the Burton movies but I thought they were great!

To Quote Kevin: " I just recently started to realize that a lot of fans don't like the Burton movies but I thought they were great!" I really liked the first 2 when they came out, but I swear ta god, anytime I've tried to watch them again, I fall asleep everytime! I find that there are relatively slow sections in those movie which lacked interest. After the 2 Keaton ones, I think the following Batman flics became a joke, with the poor choice of Actors and perposterous situations, I didnt dig em at all. I really hope this new Bale batman brings out a darker less commercial type of movie. Will

I completely agree with your comments about the second two movies. I think the problem was largely due to not understanding where they stood. It was too campy to be serious and not campy enough to compete with the Adam West show- so they were just kind of dumb. Some missed opportunities with great villain casting in both movies, bad choices for Batman, and does anyone really need a close-up of Batman's butt?

The recent BATMAN movies have been a mixed bag for me. Visually, I think they have all been stunning. The Elfman theme is brilliant and the tone for the first two made general audiences realise that there was something else to Batman beside Adam West. However I too find the first two films slow in places. I was fortunate enough to be at a press preview of the first BATMAN and when I returned home my partner was expecting me to be raving about it. She was surprised when I told her I didn't really know what to think or say about it. The other two films both have some interesting aspects but by and large are disappointments to all concerned. Let's hope Christian Bale breathes new life into the franchise.

My favorite Bat-toy is the newer Hotwheels 1/18 scale diecast 1989 Batmobile. That is a thing of beauty to mine eyes! I LOVE that car! ;D I met Anton Furst one month before he won the Oscar for all that design work and I got to personally tell him how much I liked teh design of that car. The model kits of it are ok, and I have several, but that diecast car has the sliding canopy which about made me cry. If they'd make a comparable 1/18 '60 TV show car...and make it better than the old Corgi, which was wonderful, I could then be buried with a car in each hand. One day... TEXT... (Can't say I like the new Begins one much... )

There is a dicast 1:25 Barris Batmobile which is produced by an independant company in England but they are limited to only 25 and cost $450.00.
The big Keaton dicasts do look sweet, they remind me of the "richmans" remote control batmobile.
