;D Sometimes, the fruit of my labour disturbs me. I had that god-awful munchkin from the McToys Oz line in my fodder bucket. I thought, for a while, that perhaps I'd make a twisted Mr. Mxy with it...until I saw Kevin's Mego Bat-Mite. This custom took me all of two hours to make (if that). The mask edge and ears are epoxy, the cape is fabric, and the belt and gauntlets are leather with a few bits and pieces added. Here's the little sprite with the rest of the Bat-Family: This picture also has my original Batgirl custom, as well as my Robin and Huntress customs. Let me know what you think, and thanks for looking.

Holy Bat Guano! Okay, first of all your two hours of work amazes me. As far as your choice of base figures (which for the first time I recognized right away) I have to say that although it may have been serendipity to have had it on hand, I doubt you could have made a better selection after much hunting. This ugly, twisted little creature brings out a latent nature of Bat-Mite that I think one senses lurking beneath the cute exterior. He is after all a creature from another dimension and maybe it's just my own xenophobic fear of hidden menace. From a standpoint of character detail, beyond the stature the head shape and propotions are right as well as the paunch for this pained, morbid version of the imp. As far as the glorbesization is concerned- you have used key visual character traits to great dramatic effect such as the right side curled ear (indeed the whole cowl), and lightning bolt emblem which is now a tilted murky version of the bat. But the real star of this piece is the paint-seeing a dark, unleashed Bat-Mite in the contemporary black and gray with a gold utility belt that looks like it holds an unpleasant arsenal. Your gift with painting on these figures is that the characters carry atmosphere WITH THEM. It's amazing. Finally, he seems right at home with the glorbes Batman-Family- seeing them all assembled really does paint an inspiring alternate world of Batman that would make a chilling graphic novel.

Hey Bruce your twisted Bat-mite is awesome! in fact I thought it would make a tre' cool avatar for you. Now your avatar sums up your style quite nicely. I love the group shot and I believe that great things could and should happen for you in the artistry world. Your style of painting kinda makes me imagine that you do a nice clean paint application then dunk the entire firgure in dirty used motor oil and let dry. They have a real authentic looking, Lords of the wasteland feel to them. I'll add one more cool Karma for you as well. Will

Very much in keeping with your style so again an amazingly original take on an established character from the Batman mythos. Reminds me too of Quato from TOTAL RECALL. (Hope I spelt that right) Nice stuff.

My lady walked into the customizing room as I was finishing up painting the little imp and looked over my shoulder to see what I was working on. She had this puzzled, disgusted look on her face, glared at me for half a second, and quietly walked out of the room. Anyway, thanks for the great feedback, guys. He was quick but fun, and I need to give a great big shout out to Kevin for inspiring this bizarre little project. Bat-Mite makes a fine avatar, albeit an upsetting one. For me, the only sane reaction to Bat-Mite is one of fear and discomfort...those beady little eyes, the hijinks, the fact that he's from another hideous dimension...all of it is a recipe for terror of the worst kind. Thanks again everyone.

I'm late to the party, but man, what a fun figure.
I love the world your body of work is creating - it reminds me of this other customizer from Germany who makes up his own characters using just about any figure from any line matched together with "found" objects. His work is very "textural" like yours.
I guess that's the long way of saying "I like it!"
